Camping Izarpe is the product of a 5-year process, we have overcome difficulties, worked hard and experienced much joy and a few tears along the way to making our IZARPE dream come true.
This project aims to be a driving force for our valley. The 5 members of the promotions team all work in the campsite and we help to generate further job opportunities. We have developed partnerships with local producers to be able to offer local products in our restaurants and our shop.
In our supermarket, Coaliment, we sell local products such cheese, honey and cider that we also use in our restaurant. We also have a broad selection of our own brand products.
As promoters and neighbours of the Valley, we aim to improve the quality of life of the local population, giving them access to services such as sports facilities, the shop, bar and restaurant. We also provide a convenient meeting place within our valley.
By encouraging tourism, we aim to help improve the local economy by maximizing environmental and cultural resources and promoting the leisure sector whilst enhancing the values of the area, notably the delicious gastronomy and traditions, ensuring we use local ingredients and products.
From our commitment to the development of Atez Valley and our immediate surroundings, we give importance to both products and services being “0 Kilometres” and this is being implemented from the very beginning. For instance, our Glamping cabins are made here with Navarre wood and we use materials from our area for construction. We have also been very careful to respect the environment, both aesthetic and environmental, our buildings are heated with biomass and the vegetation that has been planted is in accordance with the surrounding species.
We have a community composting point and we provide materials and training so that all our visitors have the option of composting while they are with us.
Izarpe means “under the stars”, honouring the fact that there is no light pollution in this beautiful region – please come and stargaze with us!
